The
Florida High School Competency Test (HSCT) is a minimum competency, 120
question, multiple-choice test of the application of basic skills to
everyday life situations. The HSCT consists of two sections: Mathematics
(10 Skills of 55 Questions) and Communications (11 Skills of 65
Questions).
The
Florida HSCT Simulation by Test Tools, Inc. was designed to have the
same look, feel, and intensity as the real Florida HSCT. There are 600
different questions divided into 21 basic Mathematics and Communications
skills that includes over, over 100 original reading passages.
The
Florida HSCT Simulation has an interactive and intuitive interface to
provide individualized study techniques for students. Unlike traditional
teaching methods, the computer allows a non-linear approach to learning
and a student can prepare for the test at his or her own pace. The
software randomizes the questions each time a test is taken, therefore,
it is a new experience every time the software is used. There is a
built-in feature for students to receive immediate feedback on their
score and explanations to the answers to further reinforce the learning
process. A grading summary identifies student strengths and weaknesses.
